VIRGINIA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Virginia Chamber of Commerce Welcomes Amazon Second Headquarters to Virginia

Virginia Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Nov. 13.

VIRGINIA –Virginia Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Barry DuVal today released the below statement following the announcement that Amazon has selected Crystal City in Northern Virginia as one of two sites for its second headquarters:

“This is a historic day for Virginia’s economy. Amazon’s selection of Virginia is a testament to the caliber of our workforce in the Commonwealth and our commitment to keeping Virginia the most business-friendly state in America.

“A robust growing economy has the capability to benefit all Virginians. The Virginia Chamber recently released Blueprint Virginia 2025, laying out a long-term strategic plan for strengthening Virginia’s economic competitiveness. Announcements like today’s are exactly the type of transformational project that will reposition Virginia once again as the number one state for business.

“The business community is pleased to stand with Governor Northam and the General Assembly on our common goal to ensure Virginia’s business climate continues to attract additional investments, such as the one announced today. This includes a strong focus on improvements to Virginia’s talent pipeline. As the voice of Virginia business, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce is delighted to welcome Amazon’s major corporate headquarters to the Commonwealth of Virginia.”
