2.5 percent of James Madison University students played sports on university teams in 2016-2017


In 2016-2017, 2.5 percentage of James Madison University students participated in collegiate sports, according to data made available by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).

James Madison University has 19,975 undergraduate students, of which 59 percent are women and 41 percent are men, and a total student body of 21,836 students. Of these students, 227 men and 317 women represented the school by participating in one or more of the sports with teams at the school.

This total does not include students playing intramural sports.

According to NCES, 4.3 percent of students enrolled at institutions of higher education with sports teams were on teams.

The sports at James Madison University with the most participants are football (119), all track combined (103) and soccer (66).
