8 percent of College of William and Mary students played sports on university teams in 2016-2017


In 2016-2017, 8 percentage of College of William and Mary students participated in collegiate sports, according to data made available by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).

College of William and Mary has 6,285 undergraduate students, of which 58 percent are women and 42 percent are men, and a total student body of 8,740 students. Of these students, 358 men and 345 women represented the school by participating in one or more of the sports with teams at the school.

This total does not include students playing intramural sports.

According to NCES, 4.3 percent of students enrolled at institutions of higher education with sports teams were on teams.

The sports at College of William and Mary with the most participants are all track combined (274), football (100) and swimming (58).
