26.4 percent of Washington and Lee University students played sports on university teams in 2016-2017


In 2016-2017, 26.4 percentage of Washington and Lee University students participated in collegiate sports, according to data made available by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).

Washington and Lee University has 1,827 undergraduate students, of which 52 percent are men and 48 percent are women, and a total student body of 2,220 students. Of these students, 357 men and 230 women represented the school by participating in one or more of the sports with teams at the school.

This total does not include students playing intramural sports.

According to NCES, 4.3 percent of students enrolled at institutions of higher education with sports teams were on teams.

The sports at Washington and Lee University with the most participants are lacrosse (81), football (76) and track and field, indoor (64).
