Graduates earn 1,100 degrees, certificates from Shenandoah University


About 48.5 percent of the 1,100 degrees and certificates handed out by Shenandoah University in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Winchester conferred 209 doctor's degrees and 158 bachelor's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in registered nursing/registered nurse. Data shows the school gave out 135 bachelor's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse, followed by 120 doctor's degrees in pharmacy and 88 doctor's degrees in physical therapy/therapist.

The university enrolled 3,844 students for 2017-18, including 2,063 in undergraduate programs and 1,781 in graduate programs.
