Cost of college went down for all students at Sweet Briar College


Tuition and fees fell 43.5 percent for 2018-19 at Sweet Briar College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Virginia students paid $21,000 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $16,155 less than the $37,155 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 96 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 76 students received grants or scholarships totaling $2.1 million and 50 students took out student loans totaling more than $479,915.

Including all undergraduates (337), 270 students used grants or scholarships totaling $8.1 million, and 175 students took out $1.3 million in federal student loans.
