Cost of college went up for all students at Fortis College-Norfolk


Tuition and fees rose 5.4 percent for 2018-19 at Fortis College-Norfolk, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Virginia students paid $16,019 to attend the two-year private for-profit institution this year – $819 more than the $15,200 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 88 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 12 students received grants or scholarships totaling $78,153 and 13 students took out student loans totaling more than $65,422.

Including all undergraduates (293), 182 students used grants or scholarships totaling $866,931, and 149 students took out $991,746 in federal student loans.
