Census Bureau: More women than men in Mount Vernon in 2017


Of the 12,648 people living in Mount Vernon in 2017, 52.8 percent (6,673) were women and 47.2 percent (5,975) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Virginia Business Daily.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by a ratio of 4,005-to-3,507. In the 65 years and over age range, there were 1,136 females and 903 males.
